DAY 1 – Central Beach
- 10km Road & Beach Run
The 10km urban and beach run is one of the most popular disciplines of the Sabrina Love Ocean Challenge and attracts over 1000 athletes. The Route follows a combination of suburban roads, wooden walkways and jeep tracks to reach the turnaround point on the beach at Robberg Corner. The return route follows sections of the beach and suburban roads before reaching the Finish line via the Beacon Island pedestrian bridge.
- 15km Surfski Paddle
The surfski for single and double surfskis will start and finish at Central Beach. The course distance is measured to be 15km – however the exact route will be determined on the day depending on wind and sea conditions.
- 5 km Ocean Swim
The swim starts and finishes at Central Beach. Athletes will have to complete 6 laps around demarcating buoys (rounding buoys with left shoulder) of 1 km each. After each lap athletes will have to exit the water through the surf and surround a flag on foot. Great for spectating!
- 1 Mile Ocean Swim
The 1 Mile Ocean Swim starts and finishes on Central Beach. Participants are required to do two laps around the buoys (rounding buoys with left shoulder) in the bay area. After the first lap participants must exit the water and run around a flag that is positioned on the beach.
- Sabrina Walk
The Sabrina Walk is an approx. 5km long Fun Walk along the beach. Turnaround point is a lovingly decorated WISHING WELL – dropping your Sabrina shell in the wishing well will bring you luck guaranteed. Walkers will be back in time to welcome the 5km Ocean Swimmers to the Finish Line.
DAY 2 – KURLAND POLO ESTATE, THE CRAGS
The second day’s events are hosted by the Kurland Polo Estate, with its manicured grounds, will once again be draped in Sabrina pink, which beautifully contrasts the lush backdrop of the Tsitsikamma mountain range.
- Trail Run (10 & 6 km)
This beautiful run offers great trails, marvelous views and lots of fun features such as river crossings, single trails and a floating bridge. Both distances will pass 1 Water Point only.
- 10km Trail Run
Elevation gain: 220 meters
The trail consists of 10% paved road, 70% jeep track and 20% single track with very muddy sections and two waist deep water crossings.
- 6km Trail Run
Elevation gain: 125 meters
The trail consists mostly of Open Jeep Track, with 5% single track. One section of mud needs to be traversed.
- 25km Mountain Bike
Elevation gain: 620 meters
The short but challenging Mountain Bike race follows a circular route traversing the pristine Kurland Estate, neighboring farms and some of the MTO forestry sections in the hills surrounding the venue offering breathtaking views of the area. The route consists of 10% technical single track with muddy, rocky sections, 30% graded gravel roads, 55% Jeep tracks and only 5% paved road.
- Sabrina Kids of Steel
The Sabrina Kids of Steel event offers a combination of a short swim and a fun obstacle trail run through the forest. The children are divided into 3 age groups.
